Introduction

You can export information from your Site Detail view to share, analyze, or archive project data in your preferred format. Paces supports multiple export types, so you can easily move data between internal tools, mapping platforms, and presentations.

Export and Download Options

From any Site Detail page, select Export to choose one of the following formats. You will receive the completed exports via email:

  • PDF: Generate a professional, shareable report (multi-section, customizable).

  • KML / KMZ: Export site boundaries and layers for use in Google Earth and other GIS tools.

In addition, you can download instantly the following types of reports:

  • CSV: Export tabular site or parcel data for further analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, or data visualization tools.

  • GeoJSON: Export site data in a web-friendly format compatible with QGIS, Mapbox, and other GIS platforms. Ideal for developers and teams working with web mapping or APIs.

  • Shapefile: Export data for use in ArcGIS, QGIS, and other professional GIS software. Best for detailed spatial analysis or collaboration with GIS specialists.

Each export type is designed for a different use case — use PDFs for stakeholder updates, KML/KMZ for mapping workflows, and CSVs for importing key details into CRMs (like Salesforce) or master spreadsheets.

PDF Exports

The Site Detail PDF export lets you generate configurable reports that capture all key insights about your site — from grid data and infrastructure to environmental and parcel details. These reports make it simple to share site summaries internally or externally.

Each PDF report can include multiple sections and maps, allowing you to highlight exactly what matters most. You can include any combination of the following:

  • Site Overview – Displays the site outline, coordinates, and summary details.

  • Grid Information – Includes nearby substations, transmission lines, and voltage data.

  • Infrastructure – Shows natural gas, fiber lines, and railroads.

  • Environmental Factors – Shows buildable area, wetlands, floodplains, buildings, and other environmental data layers.

  • Parcel Details – Lists parcel boundaries, ownership details, and parcel-level characteristics.

How to Export a PDF

  1. Open a site in Site Detail.

  2. Click Export → Export as PDF.

  3. A multi-step modal will open where you can select which sections and map layers to include.

  4. Review your selections and click Export.

  5. The PDF will be emailed to you once generated.

KML/KMZ Exports

Exporting your site as a KML or KMZ file lets you visualize your site boundaries, parcels, and environmental layers in Google Earth, ArcGIS, or any other GIS-compatible tool. These exports are ideal for spatial analysis, sharing with GIS teams, or overlaying Paces data with external map sources.

When exporting, you’ll first choose an Export Level, which determines how data is grouped in your file. You can then select which layers to include for visual context.

Export Level Options

  • Site Level – Treats all parcels within a site as a single entity. Each row of the export represents a full site.

    • Best for: visualizing overall site boundaries and context.

  • Parcel Level – Treats each parcel as its own entity, with one row per parcel.

    • Best for: parcel-level analysis, ownership comparison, or environmental overlays.

  • Parcel with Site-Level Insights (Legacy) – Similar to Parcel Level, but includes site-level metrics appended to each parcel row.

    • Note: This option supports older workflows.

Layer Selection

After choosing your export level, select which map layers to include in your KML/KMZ file. These layers will appear as overlays when you open the file in a GIS tool.
