Introduction
Before applying for interconnection, a power flow study helps developers understand how your load will affect the grid and how the grid will respond. Our reports simulate the electrical behavior of the utility network at your site so you can identify violations, estimate upgrade costs, and design your application with confidence.
Offerings
Power Flow Study (N-1)
The foundation of our power report suite. This study runs a power flow analysis against the utility's base case to surface N-1 contingency violations at your site.
Best for: validating promising sites before committing to interconnection.
Case: Utility base case
Years: Two
Season: Summer peak
Analysis: Power flow with a single load amount - N-1
Narrative: Synthesis of findings and recommended next steps
Optional Add Ons
N-1-1 Analysis
Extends the base study to N-1-1 contingency depth. This is the standard most utilities apply to large load interconnections. An N-1-1 analysis produces a bankable due diligence report suitable for financing conversations and utility discussions on timing and ramp schedules.
Best for: sites you've committed to and are preparing to apply for interconnection.
Off-Cycle Updates
Utility base cases are published on a fixed cadence, but projects enter the queue continuously. Off-cycle updates re-run your analysis against an enriched case incorporating ~90% of high-impact proposed projects not yet in the official releases.
Available and refreshed monthly across MISO, ERCOT, and PJM.
Best for: active regions where queue dynamics could affect your utility study results.
Ordering Reports
Open the Reports page from the sidebar to browse available services and view your full request history.
New to large load development and unsure of where to start? We recommend ordering reports in this order:
Shortlisting: Run a Power Flow (N-1) to validate site signals and understand key risk factors.
Site selection: Add N-1-1 to produce a technically rigorous, bankable report.
Active regions: Add off-cycle updates to account for proposed grid changes before submitting your application.
Alternatively, for the most comprehensive review of a site from a power perspective, order a power flow study with all add-ons.
