The Data Portal in Paces allows you to browse, search, and manage datasets for use in searches, ad hoc insights, and map layers. Follow the steps below to access and enable the datasets you need.

Step 1: Open the Data Portal

  1. Go to the top-right corner of your Paces dashboard.

  2. Click on your organization name.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select Data Portal.

Step 2: Explore Available Datasets

  • After selecting the Data Portal, a list will appear showing:

    • Dataset Names

    • States

    • Permissions

    • Visibility

    • Actions

  • At the top, you’ll see a search bar and filtering options.

Step 3: Search for a Dataset

  • If you know the dataset name, simply type it into the search bar to jump directly to it.

Step 4: Enable a Dataset

  1. Locate the dataset in the list.

  2. Toggle Visibility to turn it on.

  3. Press Save Visibility in the bottom-right corner.

✅ Once saved, the dataset will be enabled for:

  • Searches

  • Ad hoc insights

  • Its corresponding map layer

Step 5: Use Filters to Browse Datasets

If you’re exploring what datasets are available in an area:

  • Use the filtering options to refine results. You can filter by:

    • State

    • Use Case (e.g., Environmental)

    • Permissions

      • Public: Uploaded by Paces and available to all users.

      • Private: Uploaded by someone within your organization; proprietary to your team only.

  • To see more information about a dataset, click on the dataset name. The popup will give more information such as a brief description and, in the case of publicly available datasets, a link to the source URL.

Tip: Use the filters when exploring new regions to quickly see which environmental, grid, or proprietary datasets you can apply to your searches.
