Product Update #82: Fiber Optic and Natural Gas Data, Owner Name Map Filtering + More Updates

We’ve integrated nationwide fiber‑optic cable and natural‑gas pipeline datasets across the Paces platform. You can access these datasets in search, maps, site detail pages, tables, and when generating insights.

In Search you will now find this information under Step 7 - Datacenter Infrastructure. In addition to specifying a minimum distance you can also specify a type of fiber optic cable you would like to target. For natural gas you can specify a range of pipe diameters you are interested in searching against.

On the map you will now find these datasets in every state. You can find these map layers under the Data Center Infrastructure heading. Map filters are available which provide the ability to see data that only fits a specific criteria i.e gas pipelines above 12 inches in diameter.

Filter the map to only show parcels with a specific owner name. Find the filter on the right hand side in the map layers bar alongside the parcel outlines layer. Type in a name to only show parcels on the map that match the specified name. This can make it easy to find additional parcels for a particularly responsive landowner.

All transmission lines are now color‑coded by voltage. Combine this with the map filter to focus on the lines that matter to your project.

Insights generated from custom datasets have now dramatically improved in speed. You can expect searches that utilize custom datasets to finish more quickly. Adhoc insight generations on sites or lists that utilize custom datasets will also execute more quickly.

We have invested more time in improving the speed of list loading. Large lists of sites in Search Results or Sites should load 30% faster now in all table views.

A new custom dataset has been added that updates our previous Airports dataset to include more locations including Heliports. This data can be helpful for projects that require FAA related permitting.
