Data Portal Filters
We've added filter options to the data portal to make it easier for you to find datasets of interest. You can filter by state, permission, visibility, use case, dataset type, collection date, and upload date. The state filter specifically helps you quickly identify all datasets available within a particular state.
Favorite Folders
You can favorite folders to pin them at the top of your folder list. Once favorited, a folder will appear at the top of the folder list on the left and will also become the first option shown when adding a site to a folder. You can quickly favorite or unfavorite folders by clicking the vertical ellipsis (⋮) located to the left of the folder name.
New Filters for Substations and Transmission lines
We’ve expanded filtering options for the Closest HIFLD Substation and Closest HIFLD Transmission Line. For substations, you can now filter by generation capacity (existing, planned, and existing + planned), substation type, and status. For transmission lines, filtering by generation capacity (existing, planned, and existing + planned) and existing + planned headroom is now available. These filters align with criteria previously accessible through searches. See this article for more details on how we calculate transmission line headroom.
Generate Insights on Power Plants
Power plant has been added as an option under Generate More Insights. When viewing any site list, you can select this feature to view the distance from each site to its nearest power plant.
